I'm Kica, a Learning & Development Specialist with experience across aviation, education, defence, qualifications and regulated learning environments.
I develop learning solutions that address performance needs, and create learning environments where every learner feels supported and able to succeed.
I use AI confidently to support my work across the learning lifecycle, from analysing requirements to evaluating effectiveness.
My approach is evidence-based, with a strong focus on quality, the needs of the people using the solution, and its impact.
My Story
In 2020, I left the aviation industry and moved into further education. I had always enjoyed mentoring others and learning myself, so teaching felt like a natural next step.
Working in education deepened my interest in adult learning. I loved working with learners who were motivated to better themselves, and seeing what became possible when they were given the right support to grow. At the same time, I saw how often learners were expected to engage with outdated resources and inaccessible content that created barriers to their learning, and I became vocal about the impact of that on the learner experience.
Today, I'm interested in what makes learning effective, from understanding what learners need in order to succeed, to evaluating whether a solution has made a difference. Whether I'm designing a programme or facilitating solutions, my focus is always on helping people build confidence and competence.
Wanting to combine my passion for learning with my aviation background, I joined a private aviation training provider where I facilitated virtual and classroom programmes for UK and international audiences. During this time, I designed compliance training that was successfully audited by the Civil Aviation Authority, and developed a strong appreciation for quality assurance, regulation and the importance of evaluating impact.
